Stripped down 5/15/06
Where has it all gone?
This is the newer, stripped down annemocarski.com ready for redevelopment and re-expansion. You will not see a picture of a stripped down Anne Mocarski. This just isn't that kind of site.
When I first started working on this, I didn't really have a goal or a focus; I ended up with something bigger than I expected- in short, something too big to learn on without leaving big sections (such as the projects section) behind.
So, my mission has changed. I've cut out a lot and I will be working on making the design better while slowly expanding and improving the site. So, don't get too worried if you don't like the color scheme or how things look. There is a good chance of change in the future.
etahoffmann.com announcement 5/15/06
I've purchased etahoffmann.com. In the next few weeks, the translation that was previously on this website will be found at the new website. I intend to start with my own translation of "Haimatochare," but also slowly build up some additional information on Hoffmann and his various endeavors. Once that site becomes functional, I'll include a link from here.
go go happy fun time! 5/15/06
Of course, there is another domain name that I now have for which the theme is still up in the air. That's right: gogohappyfuntime.com. That's me.
I just like the name.
Before starting yet another site, I figure I should get a theme and basic idea together first. I've learned from my first attempt. In the first conceptual stage, I thought it would be a great place to focus on both sumo and polka music. Tim did not think those were naturally affinitive. I'd say unless you spent some time at Polkabration fighting for real estate on the dance floor so that you don't get spun into the tables, you might not realize how close they are. But, nonetheless, I have to agree that this may not be my best idea.
This site remains in the conceptual stage. More than likely it will be focused on things that make me happy. I might need to make a reference to the Nintendo character Yoshi a couple of times. This will more than likely be a location for my projects, which just didn't get the attention they needed here. Once the idea changes into action, I'll have a link here as well.
Does it make sense to have three sites when one was too much? For the way my mind works, it does. Hope you keep checking in-
Other sites to see 5/31/06
This week I am bringing back the page of links. I will be building it slowly, but wanted to be sure that I had the people who were there previously while adding some others. For this reason, I created the heading "Interesting people" to distinguish these links to people I know and like and find interesting. Other headings will come as the list is added. Hopefully no heading will be called "Boring weird stuff."
One new innovation will be the featured link at the top of the page. My intent is to update this regularly, so hopefully no one will feel left out. I'll also try to keep the short description once the link is no longer featured. The mechanics of that are cooking in my mind, but I'll have to work out the coding. If your link is up there and you aren't featured yet, you will be!
As always, if you have a website that I don't know about and would like to have it listed, just let me know. There is always room for growth!
For your reading pleasure 5/31/06
Last week I updated the book club list. We had a good meeting with good food and came up with some new selections for the upcoming months. The new books have been added with anticipated meeting months (one per month- although holidays get in the way of that sometimes).
Organizationally, I added a break between what was already done in 2006 and the upcoming selections. Hopefully this will make it easier to see what is yet to come. Each month, I'll update the list after the meeting. I won't write an update on this page unless something really remarkable happens- and I've already got at least one formatting issue I want to resolve.
